Update: Traditions Weekend
We are all watching with great concern as the situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to unfold in the U.S. and around the world. You may have seen the president’s email detailing the university’s policies to safeguard the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends. Based on the guidance provided by the university, the CDC’s recommendations for at-risk populations to avoid travel and large gatherings, and an abundance of caution, we have made the very difficult decision not to hold Traditions Weekend this April.
I know this is disappointing news, and that we were all looking forward to gathering together for this celebration. However, in light of the evolving situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19), we believe this is the right thing to do for our university and our community.
Leadership from the 50th Reunion, Olde Guarde and the Boyle Legacy Society will email all of their members about Traditions Weekend with more information. Please note that we will fully refund your registration fee. You will not have to do anything to initiate the refund — it will happen automatically. Anyone who booked a hotel room in the room block at the Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites may call (757) 645-3600 to cancel, and those who booked at the Williamsburg Lodge and Woodlands Hotel & Suites may call (800) 261-9530. If you have any questions, you can call our events hotline at (757) 221-1750 or email email@example.com.
We are resilient and we look out for each other. We will get through this challenging moment together. Please, stay safe and be well.
